Principles of Anatomy and Physiology

Principles of Anatomy and Physiology is geared to students with interest in health-oriented, medical and biological areas, who are aiming for careers in the health field, biological science and physical education.  Main objective is to provide a basic understanding and working knowledge of the human body. 

Grade level: 10-12.

Prerequisites: Biology.

Biology I

The traditional high school biology class that explores most facets of the biological sciences of today.  This class, by use of microscopy and dissection of preserved specimens, attempts to provide a well-rounded background in the life sciences.
Grade 10.

Advanced Biology

An upper level biology course for the advanced student.  This course would identify and discuss current environmental  issues, keep abreast of current events pertaining to all aspects of biology, and attempt to apply the biological sciences to the past, present, and future of the planet Earth.  This course also explores human reproduction, the human immune system and the impact of diseases on the human population.

Prerequisite: Biology.

Grade 11-12.

Credit 1.

 

Chemistry

Chemistry is a survey course of inorganic chemistry.  Topics include classification of laws, matter, chemical taxonomy and reactions, stoichiometry, states of matter and gas laws, and acid-base titration.  This course will provide a good deal general background of chemistry.

Pre-requisites: Algebra I.

Grade level: 11-12,

Physics I

Physics I is a course designed to examine our physical world in terms of mechanical, fluid, electrical and thermal systems.  Concepts studied will include force, work, rate, resistance, energy and power. Pre-requisites: Algebra I. Grade level: 10-11. Credit 1

Physics II

Physics II is a continuation of Physics I in which others areas of physics are explored.  Topics include momentum, waves and vibration, radiation and light and optical systems.
