Multimedia

Is designed as a higher-level course which utilizes skills taught in Computer Applications I & II and expands upon that knowledge.  The course content will include a variety of computer applications--internet basics, internet searches, designing web pages, desktop publishing, electronic mail system, (multimedia) PowerPoint, & multimedia video productions.  The capstone of this class will be a senior video that will be produced by the senior class members.
Prerequisites: Keyboarding I & II,

Computer Applications I.

Profiles

The students so research and create a webpage on a topic or profile in history.  Primary and secondary sources are used and students must hone their skills at research and transferring that to a hypothesis with supporting documents and material to make the web page.

Sociology

Is a class offered for College credit and is an upper level class in which the students are exposed to the relationships between people and groups with their society and culture. 
Grade 11-12.

American History

Required survey course or American History in the 21st Century 1900- present.  Genealogy Research is a major project in the class and allows students to associate their own family history with the events in American History. 
Grade 11.

American Government

This course is a required course. It is the study of the constitution and its application to all Americans.
Grade level: 12.

Psychology

General psychology provides an introduction to human behavior in the areas of personality, mental illness, emotion, learning, love, and social behavior. The class focuses on the causes and reasons for why we do the things we do in life and discusses some of the ways our behavior can go wrong.

 


World History

World History is a class that gives the students the essentials in the changing lifestyles through the ages, which includes the economic and governmental programs employed, they can trace a line from the past to their position in the present.  It touches on the evolution of religion and methods of warfare as well as technological accomplishments of the people or the empires we are studying. By studying all of these things while at the same time drawing the line on up to the present and into the future, the students have a foundational knowledge of where we came from and where we are going.
Grade 9-12.

World Geography

World Geography is a class that familiarizes the students with the ethnic background, the cultural influences and the economic aspects of the countries of the world.  Exercises in map work will give the students a very sound knowledge of the physical location of each country that we study.  It also fills in the blanks in their mental maps and they are better equipped to locate countries in relation to other countries or areas.  It also introduces the students to historical aspects of each country and particular historical sites and the resources and climates effect on the lifestyle of those that inhabit each region. Grade 9-10.
